School of Music and Performing Arts for everyone

Gjesdal School of Music and Performing Arts (Gjesdal Kulturskole) offers teaching and activities for all children and young people who want to learn more about art and culture. At the School of Music and Performing Arts, you can learn to dance, sing, play an instrument, act, and draw/paint/sculpt (visual arts). Many of our students make new friends and feel like part of a community.

The School of Music and Performing Arts is driven by skilled, professional teachers. We teach students both individually and in groups, depending on the subject. Teaching mainly takes place after normal school hours.

Who can attend the School of Music and Performing Arts?

All children and teenagers can attend the School of Music and Performing Arts. Some of our subjects are restricted to certain age groups, but in general we offer classes to everyone aged 6 to 19 years, and some dance classes are also available for preschool children. We offer tuition in various art subjects for both beginner and advanced students. Adults over 19 may also apply for a place at the school, and will be accepted if places become available during the school year.

How much does it cost?
The cost to attend the School of Music and Performing Arts is adjusted annually, and a full list of costs can be found here.
Gjesdal School of Music and Performing Arts also offers pupils the opportunity to borrow certain instruments or equipment for a small additional fee (subject to availability).

If you wish to stop attending lessons, the final date for giving notice is the 1st of December for the spring semester. All messages regarding withdrawal must be in writing to the school principal – not via the teacher. To withdraw from the school for the forthcoming schoolyear, notice can be given via the re-registration in April, or by e-mail to the principal before the 1st of June at the latest.
